Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs): any new or flare up of a mental health condition while pregnant or postpartum
Depression: low/sad/angry mood, low energy, poor sleep
Grief: sadness, regret, anger
Reproductive Loss: loss of pregnancy, infant, or ability to conceive
Anxiety/Panic: nervous, overstimulated, irritable
Bipolar Disorder: mood swings, impulsive behaviors, less need for sleep
PTSD/Childbirth Trauma: nightmares, jumpy, avoidance
OCD: scary intrusive thoughts, repetitive checking behaviors
**Postpartum Psychosis (RARE): agreement with scary thoughts

Perinatal is a vast category and includes anyone who is pregnant, postpartum (from birth until your child is 2 years old), preparing for pregnancy, undergoing infertility treatments, or experienced a recent pregnancy or infant loss.

Absolutely! Partners are welcome and encouraged because a significant number of partners also suffer with perinatal mood disorders. Your mental fitness is critical in supporting your family during this major shift in life.

Fortunately, most psychiatric medications are safe in pregnancy, so please speak with your provider before starting and discontinuing.

Many treatment options exist outside psychiatric medications. Please speak with your provider to discuss which options may be right for you!

Unfortunately, we do not offer diagnostic assessment nor treatment for ADD or ADHD. Although we do not diagnose or treat ADHD, we can suggest lifestyle modifications for management.

We are happy to complete FMLA and short-term disability forms, but we do not evaluate clients for long-term disability.

Yes, we accept walk-ins. However, we encourage booking ahead so you can be seen when you want to and avoid the stress of being ‘fit in’ between other appointments.
